Join the Legacy! Now is the Best Time to Give Back to Our Public Lands in Boulder

Colorado Gives Day, on December 9th, is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. This year we are thrilled to have a $30,000 matching gift making now the BEST time to give before year end!

Donations help us continue our important work to support the public lands in Boulder that we all utilize, benefit from and love. Join us from November 1 – December 31st by making your donation that will be matched dollar for dollar to raise special funds that may support:

Responsible Recreation and Infrastructure

Supporting world-class recreational experiences that help protect wildlife and plant habitats through purposefully designed trail construction and maintenance efforts, trailhead enhancements and improved visitor amenities. Representative projects and funding needs include:

Chautauqua Trailhead and Ranger Cottage Renovation 2026-2027

    • Opportunities exist to support interpretive and educational exhibit space, site furnishings, interpretive demonstration gardens and accessibility improvements. Funding needs range from $2,500 to $250,000.

Mount Sanitas Trail Enhancements and Climbing Access 2025-2027

    • Ongoing needs to leverage existing grant funding for major repairs and enhancements to the trails and access. Any donation is appreciated.

Marshall Mesa Trailhead Gathering Area Improvements 2024-2025

    • Interpretive area signs, interactive features and educational infrastructure. Funding needs range from $2,500, $10,000 and $20,000.

Boulder Valley Ranch

      • Visitor infrastructure improvements along the new trail system and enhancements to observation areas such as interpretive signs, benches, shelters and native landscape plantings. Funding needs range from $5,000 to $100,000

Connecting Youth with Nature

Provides experiences and places for our youth to become inspired by nature and develop future stewards of the natural world. Representative projects include:

  • Terrain Hopper Accessible Track Chair for accessible programming. Cost to purchase and maintain for accessible programs is $25,000.
  • Funding school buses for spring 2026 field trips. Cost is $2,000.
  • Nature Connection Activity Guide. Funding need is $5,000.
  • Youth Equity in the Outdoors Programming. Funding need is $5,000.

 

Climate Resilience and “Re-Wilding” our Public Lands Conducts restoration, preservation and enhancement work of ecosystems to support plant and animal communities. Representative projects include:

  • Habitat Restoration and Non-native Species Removal to Support Breeding Northern Leopard Frogs
