A historic effort is underway to repair the iconic Mount Sanitas trails and recreation area, improve community access, and restore damaged areas and fragile native plant life with a $1.1 million matching grant. We’re calling on our community to join the legacy and step up for Sanitas with a gift of donation!

For more than a century, Mount Sanitas has been Boulder’s backyard sanctuary – a place to move, breathe, and heal. Its dramatic hogback ridges, Ponderosa Pine forests, and sweeping grasslands draw nearly 375,000 visits to its trails every year, making it one of the most popular recreation areas in Boulder.

Boulder Open Space Conservancy is raising funds to leverage a $1.1 million grant to repair and protect this irreplaceable landscape for future generations. Your tax-deductibe gift – whatever feels meaningful to you – will directly increase sustainability and help preserve this beautiful open space that serves as our city’s backdrop for generations to come.

  • If you take a 2026 Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from a retirement account, withdrawals can be tax-free when directed to a non-profit such as BOSC.
  • Email Alyson Duffey, BOSC Executive Director to discuss how you would like to make your gift. BOSC is a 501c3 non-profit organization and your gifts are tax-deductible.
  • Inquire with your employer or company about their community support programs that may include matching gifts, sponsorships, grants, and volunteer programs.
  • Set up a recurring monthly donation! Every dollar adds up…just $10 per month (or the cost of a latte and a pastry!) is $120 annual contribution!
